Why Twilight Escapement
The difference quiet care makes
Fine watches ask for more than technical competence. They ask for respect — for the maker's intent, the owner's sentiment, and the watch's place in time.
Unhurried Assessment
Each watch is examined slowly and without pressure. No shortcuts in diagnosis, no rushed conclusions. The right observation takes time.
Written Documentation
Every service produces a written record — findings, work performed, and recommendations. You leave with a clear account of your watch's condition.
Originality Preserved
We do not replace what is not necessary. Preserving the original parts, finish, and character of each piece is always the first consideration.
Matched Components
When parts are needed, we source original or period-correct components. We take the time to find what is right rather than what is simply available.
Transparent Communication
Before any work begins, you receive a clear explanation. Nothing proceeds without your understanding and agreement at each step.
Respectful Timelines
Fine work is not rushed. We give each piece the time it needs, and we communicate progress honestly so you always know where things stand.

Is your watch ready for careful hands?
Bring your timepiece to us for an unhurried conversation. There is no obligation — only an honest assessment and tactful advice on what, if anything, your watch may benefit from.
Common Questions
Things owners often ask
Do I need to book an appointment?
An appointment is preferred so we can give your watch the undivided attention it deserves. Walk-ins are welcome when the workshop is open, but booking ahead means we are fully prepared to receive your timepiece. You can reach us by phone or through the contact form below.
How long does a service take?
An Inspection & Routine Care service typically takes 5–10 working days. Repair & Regulation work generally requires 2–4 weeks, depending on parts availability. Restoration & Vintage Care projects vary and are discussed in full before work begins — some restorations may take 6–10 weeks when period-correct components need to be sourced carefully.
What brands do you work with?
We work with a wide range of fine Swiss and European timepieces — mechanical and automatic movements of all complications. Vintage and collectible watches from major maisons are welcome. We discuss each piece individually during the consultation, and we will always tell you honestly if a watch requires specialist resources we do not hold in-house.
Do I receive a quote before any work begins?
Yes. Following the initial inspection, you receive a written assessment with the proposed scope of work and the cost. Nothing proceeds without your express agreement. If findings change during work — which occasionally happens with vintage pieces — we contact you before continuing.
Will my watch look different after service?
Not unless you specifically request cosmetic work. Our approach is to maintain the watch as it is, preserving patina, brushing, and original surfaces. Any polishing or case refinishing is discussed and agreed upon separately, and we always advise on the likely effect on the watch's collector value before proceeding.
Is there a service charge if I decide not to proceed?
An initial consultation is complimentary. If a detailed technical inspection is needed to produce a quote — which occasionally applies to complex vintage movements — a small assessment fee may apply. This will always be communicated clearly before any examination begins.
